Deconstructed Cheeseburger Pizza

Deconstructed Cheeseburger Pizza

Friday night at our house is always pizza night.  We like a variety of pizzas, and I am always looking for new and exciting pizza flavor combinations to keep it interesting.  When I think of combinations I have done in the past: BBQ chicken, margherita pizza, pepperoni, sausage, supreme pizza, BBQ white sauce pizza, prosciutto and arugula pizza, sausage and apple pizza, pizza with potato slices on it.  I even make my own pizza sauce from scratch.  However, I have never made a hamburger pizza.  I have seen posts on hamburger pizza, but never thought it would appeal to me.  Which is odd, because I like all the components that would go on one.  Last night OMG I created the best cheeseburger pizza I have ever tasted.  The combination of ketchup and Worcestershire sauce for the pizza sauce adds a sweet tomatoey umami experience, balanced against the tart pickle chips and tanginess of the yellow mustard wakes up the entire palate.

I used my own pizza dough that added a nice pillowy soft crust underneath the ground sirloin, onions and cheese blend.  I used a Mexican cheese blend that contains (Monterey jack, asadero, cheddar and queso quesadilla).   I included a fresh vine tomato from my own organic garden.

This recipe creation was a hit and will go into my recipe box and worthy of sharing.
